NautiBuoy charms at SCIBS

At this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, Superior Jetties represented the award-winning NautiBuoy platform, which attracted much interest from superyacht crew, waterski and boating clubs, as well as boat owners.

NautiBuoy won the 2015 DAME- Design Award at METS trade show, particularly praised for its four years of R&D ahead of the current incarnation which is available in several sizes and two finishes to suit the leisure and maintenance markets.

The NautiBuoy inflatable platform features a patented modular air-toggle system and Velcro straps and has a wide range of uses: from a swim and sunbathing platform, to a jet-ski dock or as a sturdy base for carrying out essential maintenance tasks.

Nina Anderson and Clay Builder developed the platform to fill a gap they saw in the market during their time working as superyacht crew.

At SCIBS, I was joined by co-designer, Tim Endersby who told me NautiBuoy is enjoying worldwide popularity for its versatility and suitability to myriad applications.

“It’s soft, so it won’t damage boats, can be deployed quickly and deflated for easy stowage, and it’s robust for a long life span. Add to that a range of practical accessories such as a bucket, for champagne or suds, and innovative air toggles – inflatable tubes that can be used to link multiple NautiBuoys securely – and the appeal is limitless!”

Best of all, owners can save the cost of a NautiBuoy in damage repairs to the yacht from jetski impact in a single season.

The NautiBuoy comes in two finishes: teak and diamond, depending on its application and the owner’s aesthetics, and both high quality PVC and heavy duty Hypalon. Delivery time from order is approximately eight weeks.

Also on water, the Waterscape by Superior pontoon was the central part of the Northrop & Johnson stand, hosting VIP events adjacent to its luxury charter yacht display. Lit up at night, and decked out with Waterscape-branded furniture, Waterscape was a tranquil and social hub for networking.

Look back at 2013

Welcome everyone to my first blog of 2014.  I hope you all had a break over the holidays and enjoyed some family time.  We are back to work at Superior with some exciting projects this year.  Over the break I had a chance to reflect on some of the highlights of 2013.  Superior completed projects in South Bund Bonded Marina in Shanghai, Portland Harbour Marina, Portland Victoria, Rivergate Marine,  Queensland and Nadi, Fiji to name a few.  It is amazing that the large and small projects together deliver the reputation we enjoy today after 25 years.

The 25 year milestone was celebrated with an event at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2013 with whom we have shared our main marketing activity for the same years since 1988.

We recently had 2 people approach us with interesting feedback.  Mike stopped me in a coffee shop to let me know that the shock absorbers we made 10 years ago are still protecting his boat and lift from excessive wakes on the main river.  The other request was to investigate adding kayak berths to a recently completed mini marina.  This was in a special request from a customer and shows that the trend toward kayaks becoming the entry level to boating is a real event.  We need to consider the needs of these boaters and modify our infrastructure to suit in way that accommodate easier berthing and egress to the craft, better storage and security in our facilities.

In 2014 we are embarking on a redevelopment of the Sydney Birkenhead Marina.  This involves adding new berths while reconfiguring the existing layout and adding fuel facilities.  This is being done using the Superior Elite timber whaler system and promises to be a landmark project for us in the Sydney market.

All the best in 2014

Another great Sanctuary Cove Boat Show for Superior

A big thank you to everyone who came and visited our stand at this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. What a fantastic weekend with a mixed bag of weather conditions which didnt really affect any of the crowds and the fun atmosphere of another wonderful boat show. Out team were kept busy all weekend as people flocked in to see our range of products including the Sunstream Float Lift, jet ski docks, Stand Up Paddle Boards and Elite Series pontoon on display. A stand out was the inclusion this year of the stunning red Bentley GTC V8 convertible and our partnership (built on Trust) with Bentley Brisbane. Our 25 year celebration on the Saturday night held in conjunction with Bentley Brisbane was a great night and an opportunity to catch up with Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate, old Superior friends and make some new ones. Another highlight was our award for Best Marine Industry Export Marketing Strategy presented at the Australian Marine Export & Superyacht Industry Awards (AIMEX). Thanks to the Superior team who built and manned the stand over the weekend, Bentley Brisbane, Ioesco Resturarant, Mr Boat Show Barry Jenkins and the organisers of this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show for a terrific weekend.

There was also plenty of interest in Superior’s floating stand with the stunning Bentley GTC V8 convertible floating on our Elite Deck pontoon catching everyone’s eye.  The amazing Sunstream Float Lift also drew plenty of interest as it demonstrated the quick getaway available for the James Bond style Pegiva water craft on show.  The Superior stand has been popular as visitors come past and view the array of products we have on show including our jet ski dock, pipe floats, Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUPs), Fire Hose reel covers and the new to Australia Seaflex pontoon anchoring system. Our team have been kept busy talking with customers and industry clients and attending the various networking event functions including AMIEX and Club Marine last night. Make sure you drop in and see us over the weekend . We are doing special boat show deals on our float lifts and a two for one offer on SUPs. We’ll keep you updated over the next three days on what’s happening over Show weekend.
